3:01 a.m. - 2003-07-04

i'm doing really well, though, i made a pact with myself to recover quickly

so like, the day after my surgery (hi, yesterday), i was up & gave myself a shower & was walking around the hospital by noon

which is pretty impressive, considering how major my surgery was

im still pretty freakin' sore but im also pretty freakin' doped up

apparently my right side was still pretty bad with the endometriosis & my right ovary was stuck because of the scar tissue & adhesions, which explained the pain going all the way down my leg

shes put me on an antidepressant, lowered my estrogen patch and hopefully this'll make the shot work better at keeping the endometriosis at bay

i didnt really get a chance to read or write anything in the hospital and thats what i planned on spending my time doing

the first night i was on a morphine drip so i was in and out of consciousness the whole time, and the next day the nurses were in and out and i couldnt read more than a page or two of my book without interruption, so i asked my brother to bring me a cosmo

and his wife showed up pretty soon afterwards with some toothpaste (i forgot to pack mine, eww), some flowers (daisies!) and the drew barrymore covered cosmo. oh, the joys of hospitals

im gonna lay down now
